No, I'm washing my hair tonight...

7th October 2014

  • 'Yes... And...' I found this game quite difficult as I could not think any excuses that did not sound nasty! Using excuses such as 'I'm going to wash my hair' was quite humorous so I decided to think of more humorous excuses so I did not feel so mean! I think it felt nasty as it was all rejection, and rejection is not a particularly nice feeling! It defiantly puts you on the spot and makes you think as the excuses I usually use are, I'm busy or I don't feel like it.
  • Be a fairy! I love floating around like a fairy myself so the name of the task excited me before I even knew what it was about! I loved how this is a really easy way to generate ideas and work, making an action on a whim was pretty easy as you think of something and just do it, it would be good to do and then to build on it. A simple action can equal plenty of scenarios, as we saw when Megan and I were kangaroos! By watching our scenario the audience could build their own perception of what we were doing, because the piece did not have speech and we were not saying 'this is what we are doing and that is that'. Basically, an action can be perceived as many different things, and I like that!
